It is widely known as the “Artemas Ward House,” because it was the residence of Artemas Ward, an American Major General in the American Revolutionary War as well as a Congressman from Massachusetts, for the entirety of his life.
The “Artemas Ward House” is an important example of American architecture, and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark for its significance in the Revolutionary War era.
The house was built in 1727 by General Artemas’s father, who served as a Major General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. The house is considered a good example of Georgian architecture and an important part of Shrewsbury’s history.

2. Ski Ward Ski Area
Shrewsbury, Massachusetts is home to this beautiful ski resort known as Ski Ward Ski Area.
There are nine courses to choose from at Ski Ward, with a total vertical drop of about 220 feet. A triple chairlift and t-bar transport riders to the top, while a handle tow and carpet lift service the learning terrain below.
The lodge has a restaurant, bar, gift shop, ski equipment rental, and first aid area for the ski patrol.
Ski teams from several Boston-area schools, notably Wellesley and Westwood high schools, use Ward as their home hill for nearly every weekday, using White Out for both training and competition.

4. Go to Historic Shrewsbury District
Shrewsbury’s historic district is located in its downtown, at the intersections of Church Road, Main Street, Prospect Street, Boylston Street, and Grafton Street.
The district has many buildings that are on the National Historic Register, including The Old Meetinghouse and First Church in Shrewsbury.
The area also includes several museums, such as the Shrewsbury Historical Society Museum which houses the only clock gun manufactured in America by Eli Terry Sr.
There are numerous shops and restaurants along Main Street for visitors to enjoy.

5. Dean Park
Dean Park is a large public park containing a pond, bandstand, picnic area, and playground as well as facilities for outdoor sports. It’s got everything from hiking trails and picnic tables, to a playground and sports fields.

6. Prospect Park
Shrewsbury’s Prospect Park may be found right in the Shrewsbury city center. Walking your dog here and exploring some of the paths is a fantastic activity to do here.
Parking place is somewhat limited, and there aren’t too many people walking around; all in all, it’s a very peaceful environment in which to take in the sights and sounds of nature.

7. Go to Shrewsbury Farmers Market
One of the best things to do in Shrewsbury Massachusetts is to go to Local Farmer Marker. This is a great place for people who love local food and want to support their local farms.
